Mega, chosen by Paul Spain of Gorilla Technology and the NZ Tech Podcast.

If you just love trying out the latest apps and online services then this one is for you. Over the weekend I spent some time with Kim Dotcom and found out about his web app and storage service Mega.co.nz.

Mega is a file storage service with some similarities to Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive and Google Drive. The differentiating features for Mega are automated file encryption capabilities and the 50GB of free storage included. Currently only the web app is available - with full Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile apps due.

My recommendation at this stage is that it's too far early to know if Mega will be a safe and reliable storage service - but if you're a tech enthusiast and enjoy being on the cutting edge it's worth a look. Do make sure you have a copy of any data you upload to Mega, however.
