Amanda Seyfried has joked she "smoked heroin" to cope with shooting her new movie.
The actress stars alongside Channing Tatum in Dear John, about a soldier and his girlfriend who are kept apart by their families and war. Amanda is thrilled with the outcome of the movie, but insists making it wasn't as easy as many would think.
"I smoked a lot of heroin and just tried to get through," she laughed, when asked about working with Channing. "I'm trouble, but in a good way."
On a more serious note, Amanda explaining teaming up with Hollywood hunk is one of the best decisions she has ever made. She loved starring alongside him, and hopes they will remain friends for years to come. Part of the reason Amanda is so taken with Channing is she was initially unsure what he would be like on set.
"This is the last day I have with Chan and then we're done promoting this movie. It's sad, because I love him. Because of all the success, you expect him to be a little bit of a jerk, or at least a little bit vain. And he's not vain. This is our last day together. What I would really want to do is go out and get drunk, for old times' sake, but I'm so sick, and that would be so stupid," she told the USA Today newspaper.
The 24-year-old was particularly glad to have forged a strong relationship with Channing as the film meant so much to her. She loved it as soon as she read the script, and would have been devastated if making it hadn't lived up to expectation.
"I wanted to be the romantic lead in something. When you're playing somebody who's going through a lot - frustration and hardship - you're just purging all your emotions, and it feels really good to do that," Amanda explained.
