Amy Winehouse has created a clothing line with Fred Perry.

The singer has created 17 individual pieces for the casual clothing label, all of which will be available to buy from October. Among the items are dresses, cropped trousers and pencil skirts, with most of the items coming in black or pink.

"I'm really excited about doing this collection with Fred Perry," Amy said. "We've been working on it for a while and it's great to see it finally come to fruition."

The range is based on the 50s aesthetic Amy is famed for. The collection is not just a one-off - Amy will create pieces for the fashion label for the next four seasons.

"Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand's own historical reference points. She is a loyal fan of classic Fred Perry product, so that is what the designs were focused on developing," Fred Perry's marketing director Richard Martin told WWD.

"We had three major design meetings where she was closely involved in product style selection and the application of fabric, colour and styling details. Amy gave crucial input on proportion, colour and fit. The range clearly has Amy's handwriting."

Amy was first linked to the label in January last year, when she was overheard discussing plans to work with the firm.
