Jennifer Lawrence is set to receive a major pay rise for The Hunger Games sequel.

The actress, who turns 22 next week, received US$500,000 plus bonuses for the wildly successful first movie.

But The Hollywood Reporter claims that Jennifer will rake in around US$10 million for Catching Fire and is in the final stages of negotiating the more profitable deal.

It will include her salary, bonuses and escalators and depending on how well the film does at the box office she is in line to have a much bigger bank balance.

Lawrence's turn as Katniss Everdeen helped to propel The Hunger Games to a gross of US$683.8 million worldwide.

Her deal with Lionsgate is said to have been renegotiated on the back of the franchise doing better than expected and is similar to what happened for the Twilight stars.

Jennifer's co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also reportedly ironing out new deals but will receive smaller raises.

Production on the second film is set to start in September in Georgia with a release date of November 22 2013.
