Talk of the Tron
Hamilton's best kept secret?
The word on the street is these donuts are the best there is, and now mamasdonuts has opened a store in Hamilton, on Duke St.
Pretty neat for two ladies who began selling their donuts on the side of the road in Temple View back in 2006.
Check out more on their website.
Shoppers, prepare your credit cards
Work on the much-anticipated Centre Place shopping centre redevelopment are progressing at a quickfire rate.
Talk of the Tron is happy to report we only have 12 short weeks left to wait until the grand opening.
Expect lots of fanfare and specials when the big day arrives.
A good old fashioned Kiwi BBQ cook-off takes place at Biddy Mulligans in Hamilton on July 27.
While Talk of the Tron is short on details, going by its name, ''My Guinness Rules'', the event will involve beer.
The poster gives this hint: ''3 teams, 2 BBQs, 78 dishes and only one winner''.
And more than likely one big tummy ache.
Long live the King
Elvis fans (who isn't one?) get excited. Elvis to the Max is coming to Founders Theatre in October.
Max Pellicano is recognised as one of the world's best Elvis impersonators and he will be rolling into town with an 18-piece orchestra to belt out all of The King's best loved hits.
We are all shook up just thinking about it.
Good George, it's George
Hamiltonians love a good Royal Baby, especially one named after our favourite local brewers of beer.
This from the Good George boys:
"William, an avid craft beer fan, was given a growler by his butler son's boyfriend after a recent trip to Hamilton, the home base of Good George Brewing.
"In celebration Good George brewery has announced it intends to shout ever person named George in the Commonwealth a complimentary brew."
Bubbles for the baby
It's not just the Good George crew that have got a good dose of Royal Baby fever.
Iguana Bar and Restaurant is getting into the spirit of thing by offering two-for-one bubbles all week.
A perfect way to wet the baby's head.
