SATURDAY NIGHT FIREWORK DISPLAYS
First up is Diprose Miller Fireworks Extravaganza at the Morrinsville Recreation Ground this Saturday. SUMMERVINES DANCE PARTY
The season of Summervines Dance parties will return to Vilagrad Winery this Saturday. I can't explain to you how much I love Summervines. Great location, great music, great people. Saturday's line-up includes Tiki Taane, Dick Johnson, A-Tonez, Mc Tali plus Time Lambourne and General Lee. There's three stages this year - Main Stage, Soundscape Stage and Something Real Stage. Revellers are gobbling up tickets so if you haven't got one yet, you should. Otherwise it's $60 on the door - if there's any left. There's a free bus leaving from the The Bank Bar and Brasserie from 7-8pm. See you there.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
It's an old tradition that stems from St Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures. Blessing of the Animals starts at 1pm this Sunday with an animal walk starting at St Francis Community Church, Mansel Ave in Hillcrest. The walk will take you and your furry friend through Hillcrest Glade Park and back to the church, followed by a service. Just remember to put your dog on a leash and cats in a cage.
A (SCARY) GATHERING OF SCARECROWS
The Kitchen Garden at the Hamilton Gardens has been transformed into scarecrow central and this Sunday you can head along and vote for your favourite. There will be a sausage sizzle, a plant sale, raffle and corn fritters, not to mention a bunch of activities to tucker the kids. It starts at 11am and runs until 3pm, with prize giving at 2pm.
WAIKATO A&P SHOW
