Beer review - Mac's Ginger Brew
Mac's Ginger Brew: Alcoholic Ginger Beer.
In its marketing, Mac's extols the purity of this product, referencing an imaginary grandad, a back shed and an old family recipe of the type brewed by those dotty old sisters on The Waltons.
It certainly goes down quickly enough and is as spicy as the marketing claims, if somewhat one-dimensionally.
Whatever the legitimacy of the craft process, however, it doesn't equate with any ginger beer I've had before, erring on the side of the sickly sweet. Highly recommended to those suffering from a summer cold, it would give most high-end cough syrups a run for their money.
