Police have concerns for a 10-month-old girl believed to be in Hamilton with her mother, who they say is actively avoiding authorities.
The baby, Bailey Crib, was in the lawful custody of Child Youth and Family in Auckland. Police believed her biological mother, Nikki Cribb, had Bailey in her care and had travelled out of Auckland to avoid detection.
Police said she is thought to be in the Hamilton area.
There is a warrant for her arrest for breaching supervision conditions.
Police said anyone actively helping Cribb avoid detection might be committing a criminal offence.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Waitakere Police on 09 839 0600, Child, Youth and Family on 0508 326 459, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
