The sun will be playing hide-and-seek this weekend as a low pressure system develops over Waikato.
MetService communications meteorologist John Law said Saturday will be the best day for outdoor activities.
''Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend...[but] then Sunday the weather will turn cloudy and the evening will bring some rain,'' he said.
Saturday will be cooler in the morning with a low of 7 and high of 18, while despite Sunday's gloomy weather it will rise from 11 to 18 during the day.
Law said Monday will be wet and drivers need to keep an eye on the weather.
