A motorcyclist who fled from Hamilton police tonight was caught when he fell off the bike.
The ‘‘fleeing driver incident’’ took place about 7pm in Hamilton East, Senior Sergeant Andrew O’Reilly said.
‘‘The incident was resolved when the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a corner and fell off the bike,’’ he said.
‘‘Further enquires are continuing surrounding the ownership of the motorcycle.’’
The rider suffered no injuries but will face a number of charges in relation to his actions, O’Reilly said.
‘‘Police cannot stress enough that fleeing drivers not only endanger themselves and police but also other lawful road users.’’
