Healthy eating for kids

Juanita Mikara, 11, giggled when Richard Kahui admitted to hating peas.
"But at least he likes eating broccoli and carrots because he will need to be strong when he is back playing for the All Blacks," Juanita said.
Kahui went to his hometown to speak to children at David Henry Primary School in Tokoroa yesterday as part of a tour promoting healthy living. The injured All Black visited Juanita's David Henry Primary School and 12 others in Tokoroa and Mangakino as part of the Healthy Eating Healthy Action Nutrition Fund Project.
Kahui said he wanted to do his part to encourage healthy living in the town he grew up in.
"We are trying to get everybody in Tokoroa to be healthy because we want to be one of the best not one of the worst."
And the message came through loud and clear for Deangelo Paki, 10, from Tokoroa Central School, who said he was going to eat more healthily because he wants "to be an All Black just like Richard Kahui".
