A Hamilton service station attendant was left sore and shaken after a request by a customer to use the public toilet turned nasty.
Ihapera Holden, 25, of Hamilton, appeared on Friday in the Hamilton District Court and admitted a charge of assault.
Holden was a passenger in a car which stopped at a service station on Avalon Dr on October 24 last year.
Holden asked to use the public toilet but when the attendant asked Holden not to go behind the counter, the defendant became angry and pushed the woman to the ground. Holden pulled the woman's hair before chasing her outside.
Holden's associate intervened after the attendant screamed for help. The victim, who did not know Holden, suffered a sore back and tenderness to her head in the attack. Holden later told police she didn't know why she attacked the woman.
Community Magistrate Kathryn Wilson remanded Holden on bail for sentencing by a judge later this month.
