A car has driven through the front entrance of the Hamilton central police station.
The four door sedan remained wedged in the front foyer of the Bridge St police station after it careered through the doors at about 1pm.
One witness reported seeing the car heading down Bridge St towards the intersection with Victoria St when it took a sudden right turn across the oncoming lane before crashing into the front of the building.
Two males were in the car when the incident occurred. The driver was treated for minor injuries while police were interviewing the passenger.
A number of people in the foyer were left shaken but uninjured while those inside the building at the time said the six storey structure shook with the force of the impact.
