Delays expected with road works
Relevant offers
Motorists can expect major delays on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Bombay and Pokeno from Sunday evening because major resurfacing work will be taking place on both the north and southbound lanes.
Work is being done between 8pm and 6am when traffic volumes are lighter, but detours could add up to 40 minutes to journeys.
The southbound lanes of SH1 between the Bombay off ramp and the SH2 on ramp are scheduled to be closed on Sunday and Monday.
This includes the closure of the Bombay southbound on ramp, Beaver Rd on and off ramps, Nikau Rd on and off ramps and Razorback Rd southbound off ramp.
Detour routes will be in place via Tuakau, in Franklin. Northbound traffic will be diverted from SH1 at Pokeno, and southbound travellers diverted from Bombay.
The northbound lanes between the Pokeno exit and Razorback Rd on ramp are scheduled to be closed on Wednesday March 24.
This includes the closure of Pokeno northbound on ramp and the southbound SH1 to SH2 off ramps.
All work is weather dependant. If it can not be carried out on the date specified above, it will be done on the next available evening.
