A Hamilton T-shirt shop has taken so-called creative advertising a step too far by including the word "bastard" and "s#!t" in two massive shop window signs, say a group of protesters who were to gather outside the store this morning.
Voice Waikato spokesperson Bert Jackson said last night the group would go ahead with their protest despite the offensive words now being covered over with a banner saying "only one week left".
The sign is posted in the shop windows of Kolektiv Design Studio, on the corner of Bryce and Barton Sts.
When Mr Jackson was first sent a photo of the sign he said he was "utterly disgusted".
"We're fed up with that sort of thing," he said.
"We think it's new level of foulness and crudity."
Auckland-based Kolektiv Design co-owner Jade Lynn told the Waikato Times that the word blanked out was actually 'shot'.
Mr Lynn said the saying was from an old western movie.
