A man suffered chest injuries after being run over by a tractor in Hamilton.
Firefighters and police freed the man, who was trapped underneath the machine in an industrial yard at 7.20am.
The 40-year-old man was taken to Waikato Hospital. His condition is described as stable.
Senior Sergeant Murray Stapp of Hamilton police said the victim was driving the tractor when he lost control and fell underneath one of the tractor's rear tyres. The man worked for Hamilton Blast and Paint. The company's management declined to comment.
The serious crash and commercial investigation unites of the police are investigating, along with OSH inspectors.
