Country music station in corner

The strumming guitars of Huntly's "broom cupboard" country music station are about to be silenced – for now.
The NZ Country Music Network will stop transmitting from its low-power FM station, TLC Radio, at Huntly's i-Site Visitor centre on Great South Rd on August 1 because of a lack of space.
The station, which consists of a computer and a transmitter and runs an automated music programme, is located in a cupboard in the building, but has to be moved as the i-Site now requires the space.
"We had it stuck in a little corner and unfortunately now they need that corner," Robert Dew, director of the NZ Country Music Network, said.
Huntly was the fourth NZ Country Music Network station to hit the airwaves when it went to air in Huntly on 107.0 MHz on November 17, 2004.
A frequency change to 107.1 was made in early December 2005 when equipment was upgraded.
Mr Dew said he was looking for an alternate location for the station. The best spot for the transmitter would be a hill property as that would mean wider coverage for the frequency.
If anyone can help Mr Dew find a new location for the NZ Country Music Network station, contact him at (09) 912 1106.
