The body of missing Ohaupo pig hunter Kevin Hayward has been found by police divers.
A dive squad found Mr Hayward's body late this morning on the bed of Lake Waipapa, on the Waikato River, adjacent to where his clothes were found last Friday.
Only yesterday, his father Doug Hayward said he had given up hope his son was alive.
He believed his son had died after diving naked into a the river to wrestle a wild pig.
"I hope we can find him, but I don't believe he's alive now," he said.
Kevin Hayward had been missing for six nights in rugged bush 50km west of Taupo before his body was found.
The death, which is not suspicious, has been reported to the coroner.
