Power has been restored to Hillcrest High School following a power cut in Hamilton East this morning.
WEL Networks control systems manager Alan Harrop said more than 950 customers were affected by the outage at 6.30am which occured when an insulator on Masters Ave failed.
‘‘When the insulator failed it led to a number of powerlines arcing in the street which caused the power outage,’’ he said.
Power was restored to most of the area by 7.05am and to Hillcrest High School by 8.46am.
