Funeral for Rae Portman
A funeral for slain woman Rae Portman and her unborn child Brooke will be held in Te Aroha this Saturday.
Police found Portman's body at an Ardmore property last week - more than three months after she went missing.
Portman was four months pregnant at the time of her death and a death notice printed today said the child was to be called Brooke.
The funeral notice said 33-year-old Portman was the "dearly loved" daughter of Rebecca Norton and her partner Arnold Te Momo, and Alastair and Rhonda Portman.
She was also a "loving sister" of Ben, Joel and Azure and a "very special granddaughter" of Esme and the late Fred Norton.
"Rae will be sorely missed," the notice reads.
Police found Portman by chance, near a creek a few hundred metres from a house on Papakura-Clevedon Rd during a follow-up visit last Thursday.
The body was returned to her family on Saturday after being formally identified.
Portman, who was also known as "Bok", was last seen at a Mt Albert motel on June 20.
Through mobile phone records, police tracked her movements to Papakura that evening and on to Hamilton the following day.
A 32-year-old Hamilton man accused of kidnapping Portman appeared in the Papakura District Court on Friday.
He was granted interim name suppression, pending his next appearance in the High Court.
Several other people have faced charges not related to Portman's death, including assaulting her and selling her car without her family's permission.
