The passenger of a car that rolled in the Karangahake Gorge this morning has been taken to Waihi Medical Centre.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
Firefighters from Paeroa and Waihi were called to the scene of the crash on State Highway 2, between Paeroa and Waihi at 11.27am on Tuesday.
Waihi Volunteer Fire Brigade Chief Fire Officer Murray Stevens said the vehicle rolled after leaving the road and one lane of the highway was closed for about half an hours as it was recovered sparking the AA to warn of congestion.
''It just got its wheels in the water table,'' Mr Stevens said. ''It rolled and came back on the road.''
