Meat cleaver accused remanded
A Ngaruawahia man charged with attacking three men with a meat cleaver will make a bail application tomorrow.
Warren Lloyd Edwards, 39, made a brief appearance in the Hamilton District Court this morning, facing three charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on October 18.
Edwards is accused of attacking three men with a meat cleaver, causing a variety of injuries.
Edwards' family and friends packed the public gallery this morning to catch a glimpse of him.
Edwards' new lawyer Jarom Keung said a psychiatric report had not been completed yet, but he still wanted to apply for bail.
Mr Keung will make that application in court tomorrow.
A man critically injured in the attack was last week moved to a ward from intensive care.
