Lightning cuts power in Huntly

A lightning strike cut power to dozens of Huntly homes last night.

The lightning hit the town's Weavers Substation about 6:15pm, WEL Networks control systems manager Alan Harrop said.

Power was restored to 171 customers after about 25 minutes.

''The remaining four customers relying on one particular transformer had their power restored by 1am."
