A Tauwhare farmer has been fined more than $34,000 for dirty dairying after reports a nearby stream had turned green with effluent.
Bryce Silvester, who owns and leases a farm in Lang Rd, was fined $34,200 and ordered to pay $378 costs following a hearing in Hamilton District Court this week.
Silvester had pleaded guilty to two Resource Management Act charges.
The prosecution, brought by Waikato Regional Council, related to two events at Silvester's Tauwhare farm in January this year.
