Kea Petroleum has been granted conditional resource consent to establish an oil exploration site on Nukuhakari Station at Waikauwau in the southern King Country.
John Moran, Waitomo District Council's manager of regulatory services, said the application to develop the station so that three oil exploration wells can be drilled, was to go to a hearing on November 15 after two submissions were received.
But both submitters withdrew their submissions and decided to take no further part in the process.
Meanwhile an application from Mokau Sands, which had applied for resource consent to redevelop the Seaview Motor Camp at Mokau, to provide 31 holiday apartments and a 50 seat cafe, is on hold.
