What do Riff Raff and Hamilton's deputy mayor have in common?

They are both getting honorary awards from Wintec next year.

Richard O'Brien, writer and star of cult musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, will be awarded an honorary Master of Arts for his contributions and commitment to the Waikato arts community.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor Gordon Chesterman will have Wintec's highest honour, an honorary fellowship, for his contribution to the institute and to public relations in the Waikato.

Mr Chesterman will receive his award during the School of Media Arts graduation ceremony in March 2013, while Mr O'Brien's award date is yet to be confirmed.
