Live music, carnivals and fairs are on the horizon as the Summer in Garden Place programme kicks off this weekend.

Councillor Angela O'Leary said the programme would showcase Hamilton's artistic and creative talent, including regular live music slots during Friday lunchtimes.

This summer will see the return of popular children's events, the Kids' Christmas Carnival in December, the Kids' Toy Trade Fair and Kids' Superhero Carnival in January, the Children's Day Carnival in February and the Twilight Carnival in March.

Also coming up is carolling, Country Music Weekend and the Chinese Lantern Festival, and of course the lighting of the Christmas tree will kick off the programme tonight .
