High winds brought down trees that blocked roads and left power lines arcing around the greater Waikato region overnight.
Fire fighters were called to a camping ground in Hahei just after 8.15pm last night to reports of tree branches falling onto tents, according to Northern fire communications shift manager Megan Ruru.
"There were trees coming down but there were no reports of anyone injured or trapped," she said.
Just hours later fire fighters were called to two different addresses in the Coromandel settlement where arcing from powerlines was reported.
In Hamilton an arborist was called to assist fire fighters in Pukete after a tree came down on Sandwich Rd after 8pm, blocking the road.
Trees also came down in Whangamata and Turangi.
