A pair who burgled a rural property last August, taking a partially restored trailer and a large stainless steel vat, have received sentences of jail and community work respectively.

Michael John Adams (also known as White) and Lyn Joyce Hall were jointly charged with stealing the items - worth about $3500 - and taking them to a scrap metal dealer where they were crushed.

Adams was sent to prison for 14 months, while Hall received 180 hours' community work and 12 months' supervision.
