Leading Waikato company, sponsor and employer the Gallagher Group is planning a big splash for its 75th birthday this year, with celebrations including a mystery gifting to the city in March.

"We are a proud Waikato company and we intend to celebrate our 75 years," said Gallagher corporate services Margaret Comer.

The gifting by Gallagher chairman and chief executive Sir William Gallagher to Hamilton mayor Julie Hardaker is on March 10 in the civic centre.

The company will also host two conferences in March, to be attended by around 200 security and management specialists.

A gala dinner for 600 people on Saturday March 9 at Claudelands is also on the birthday celebrations agenda.
