Nitro Circus Live roared into town last night, giving more than 15,000 Waikato fans the chance to see some of the world's most extreme athletes live.

And if fans were expecting just a mind-blowing FMX and BMX spectacle, they got much more.

Trikes, a boogie board with wheels, a pink barbie car and even a chilli bin were pushed down the 15-metre-high Nitro Gigant-A-Ramp - part of the multimillion-dollar setup transported to Waikato Stadium in 14 semi-trailers this week.

While FMX stars like Frenchman Thomas Pages dazzled the 15,000-strong crowd, the three Kiwi riders in the show were clear crowd favourites.

Luke Smith, on a comeback tour after suffering a near-death accident three years ago, Nick Franklin and Jed Mildon all wowed the crowds with their thrilling performances.
