Best of British: The Te Aroha clock tower was lit up to mark the arrival of the royal baby.

Baby blue: Cambridge Town Hall got the colour right – blue for a boy and heir to the throne.

Gender neutral: Victoria Bridge in Hamilton was glowing pinkish-purple last night in honour of the royal baby boy.

On time: The Cambridge clock tower was also beaming blue.

Towns all over the region did their bit to make the new royal baby feel welcome, lighting up prominent monuments.

Tirau's wrought-iron dog beamed for joy, while town clocks in both Te Aroha and Cambridge also lit up.

Cambridge  also illuminated its town hall while Taupo lit  its Great Lake Centre and in Hamilton, the Victoria Bridge glowed.
