A post-mortem examination of a teenage girl found dead in a Claudelands house has "raised more questions than it has answered," police say.
The body of the girl, 17, was found inside a Te Aroha street house about 4am Wednesday.
The autopsy was held in Auckland today but failed to reveal the cause of death, Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson said.
Further forensic examinations would now be held, he said, and would take several days to complete.
"Until those examinations are concluded we will be unable to ascertain the nature of the woman's death so we will continue to treat the matter as suspicious until we have evidence that proves otherwise," he said.
Police are still examining the Te Aroha St house and are talking to neighbours.
