A Hamilton woman who performed sex acts on a cardboard cut-out at a city supermarket says she was too drunk to remember who the cut-out was of.

Marise Louise Marks was yesterday sentenced in the Hamilton District Cour to 60 hours' community work.

The court was told that Marks, 41, was drunk inside a Countdown supermarket when she started "simulating a sex act with a cardboard cut-out".

She refused to stop and was still up to her hijinks when police turned up and arrested her.

When approached by the Waikato Times at her Hamilton home, Marks said she couldn't remember who the cardboard cut-out was of, but believed it to have been "some actor".

She had gone from the Hamilton Central police station to the Bridge St Countdown, where she started getting up to mischief before being arrested, she said.
