Hamilton teen's death not suspicious

The death of a Hamilton teenager initially treated as suspicious will now be referred to the coroner.

Ambulance staff notified police of a 17-year-old who was found dead in a Te Aroha St house at Claudelands shortly after 4am on October 23.

The scene was cordoned off and a scene examination conducted, and police were treating the girl's death as suspicious.

However, Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson, of the Hamilton CIB, said police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the young woman's death and the matter will be submitted to the coroner.
