A mysterious masked marauder, who held up a service station with a knife, is on the loose in Te Kuiti, and police are calling on the public to help find them.
The thief was responsible for an aggravated robbery of the Z service station just outside Te Kuiti in August, but despite wearing a distinctive green mask, police are yet to track them down.
Detective Paul Galletta of the Waipa CIB said the robbery took place at on August 26, 2013 at about 6.40pm.
"The offender fled the store on foot, making away with a small amount of cash and was last seen running down Te Kumi Rd. The mask the offender wore was described as being emerald green coloured made of shiny plastic with puffy cheeks."
Mr Galletta said the gender of the offender was yet to be established and the person responsible was of skinny build and small in stature.
"Because of the physical description given, it's possible the offender could be aged in their early to mid teens and reside locally."
Anyone with knowledge of this incident or who knows of someone who has possession of thisdistinctive mask is asked to contact Mr Galletta at the Te Awamutu Police Station on 07 8720100.
Alternatively information can be left anonymously with the independent Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
