A woman was stabbed in the back in the Hamilton suburb of Fairfield this morning.
Police are due to conduct a forensic examination of the house where the attack occurred today.
Ambulance staff called police to the scene on Ross Cres at about 1.40am.
"Officers arrived to find a woman had suffered a serious stab wound to her back and she was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance and has subsequently been released,'' acting Detective Sergeant Andrew Mortimore of the Hamilton CIB said.
