The name of a woman found dead in her Te Aroha home on Monday has been released.
Ying Hui Kong, 28, was found dead at her Stanley Rd house on Monday morning and, due to the sudden unexplained nature of her death, the police yesterday began conducting a forensic examination to look for anything suspicious.
"Unfortunately, a post-mortem examination carried out in Auckland yesterday to try and establish the cause of Miss Kong's death was inconclusive and investigators are now waiting on the results of further examinations, including toxicology tests to determine if her death was suspicious,'' Area investigations manager for eastern Waikato, Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Pitkethley, said.
"At this point in time our investigation remains one into a sudden, unexplained death."
Her death is not believed to be linked to any other matters that have taken place in Te Aroha in recent days.
