Controversial legal high dealers will feel the pinch from Hamilton City Council sooner than expected.

City hall has fast-tracked hearing and deliberation dates on the draft Psychoactive Substances Policy due to the increasing negative effects that both the central business district and Grey St are facing.

Councillor Angela O'Leary said the council has responded to people's concerns and brought forward the hearings and deliberations process by one month.

The policy was due to be adopted at the end of March but that's been groutgh forward to the end of February.

However, public feedback time frames on the draft policy remain the same and submissions close on Monday, February 17. With the condensed hearings timeframe, the community are encouraged to have their say early and not wait until the closing date to provide feedback.
