Waitangi Day will be officially recognised with a civic event in Hamilton's Civic Square at 7am tomorrow.
Later, a citizenship ceremony will be held at Hamilton City Council's reception lounge. New citizens will be given a kowhai tree.
Meanwhile Hamilton Zoo will host a family day with free face painting, ice blocks and more. A jazz band will play from 11am to 2pm.
Ngauruawahia will also celebrate Waitangi Day with its annual Picnic @ the Point tomorrow. There will be music, including local talent Violet Moanaroa and Jaedyn Randall, winner of the the recent Tainui Games talent quest.
Other bands are also set to perform at the drug and alcohol free celebrations which start at 3pm and go through to 8pm.
