Motorcycle and ute collide in Tamahere
A man is fighting for his life in Waikato Hospital after his motorbike collided with the back of ute in Tamahere this morning.
Emergency services were called to Bruntwood Rd abour 8.25am. The man, believed to be in his forties, suffered critical head, neck and limb injuries in the crash, while one person in the ute received minor injuries said St John Hamilton territory manager, Adrian Gavin. Both were transported to Waikato Hospital.
A short time later emergency services were called to River Rd in Queenwood after a car driven by 38-year-old woman, who is believed to have suffered a medical episode, left the road and collided with a tree.
Waikato Road Policing Manager, Inspector Freda Grace, said the woman suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Waikato Hospital.
"While we're yet to determine the circumstances of this crash we can reflect that this is the second serious crash this month where existing medical conditions may have played a contributing factor. Police urge any road users afflicted by medical ailments to ensure they adhere to any medical advice or any restrictions related to taking medication and driving least they put themselves or others at risk."
