Driver kicks way free after plunge
A woman had to kick her way out of her car after it careered off the road yesterday.
The vehicle plunged 4 metres down a bank into Raglan Harbour.
The woman was driving towards Raglan township on Wainui Rd when her vehicle left the road just before 11am, Constable Julie Cowley said.
She said the woman suffered minor injuries while trying to escape from the car.
She was the car's sole occupant.
She was taken to the Raglan medical centre by St John Ambulance.
A tow truck started recovered the vehicle, which had landed on its roof and was partly submerged after the crash.
