Disney breaking ice

If you have ever yearned to see Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan and Simba the lion on an ice skating rink, now is your big chance.

Disney on Ice is coming to Claudelands Arena in July. The show has toured the country before, but not performed in Hamilton.

Characters from the company's much-loved animated films will take to the rink for the show, which is called Treasure Trove and promises to be a "medley" of Disney's own tales as well as ones they have made their own, from the first film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, made in 1937, to Disney's 50th film Tangled, which was released in 2010 and is loosely based on the story of Rapunzel.

Produced by Feld Entertainment, Disney On Ice will open for a short season in Hamilton, from July 25 to 27, before it travels on to Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.

Tickets are on sale and available through Ticketek: 0800 TICKETEK (842 538) or www.ticketek.co.nz. For more information visit disneyonice.co.nz.
