The Highest Good
01:21pm 31 Jan 2010 The Boeing 747 broke through the scattered clouds. Below the silvery thread of the river Thames curled its' way through London. Sir Charles and Lady Quartermain were thrilled to be back. "See down there Susan, that's where the old Royal Albert Docks used to be. I set sail from them on my first voyage to New Zealand, forty one years ago. Now it's now a small airport; it all seems like yesterday."
On the couch
05:00am 15 Mar 2010 When Billy Bowden first appeared on the scene he was lauded for adding a bit of personality to the dourness of cricket umpiring. In fact, when the Australian commentators got stuck into him for his 'silly antics', we leapt to his defence much as we would do when a bully is picking on one of our own.

02:27pm 18 Mar 2010 One useful metric for gauging the success of an online venture is the number of people who visit your website.
Rambo's rant
11:56am 15 Mar 2010 The recent headline grabbing activities of Chiefs Super 14 Rugby player Sione Lauaki and Australian cricketer Michael Clarke serve just to remind us that they are human after all.
Lisa on life
03:12pm 22 Jan 2010 One of the ways I got over the "Matt setback" was going on an all expense paid trip to Australia shouted by a friend.
Prebble's Musings
07:55am 17 Mar 2010 "Yeeeeeeeeeeeah haaa!" was the cry from the good ol' boys (never meanin' no harm) as they jumped over a ravine and got away from a dust covered Rosco Coltrane and Flash. In 1982 the Dukes of Hazzard was as pure as Americana got for me, right down to the pub where the bluegrass and country bands twanged away while the boys tried to take Daisy on at the pool table.

Yeah, I agree! I remember O-Week to be huge...Shihad, HLAH, 3D's, Headless Chickens, along with comedy nights (poor performance from Adrianne Edmundson etc) and the list goes on and on. This has been a long lost tradition in Hamilton with absolutely nothing been done for a number of years. Bad show people!! Is this the WSU?

in 2006 I took my abuser to court, he abused me for 11 years of my life, as the years went on the abuse got worse and more frequent until it was weekly, or 2 times a week. By the time I was aware that this was not ok behaviour, and what was happening was wrong, I was deemed of at an age that I should have known better and I must have invited it. How do I know that? because that was what society said to me at the time. 13 years later I asked my abuser to admit his actions, he refused, so it ended up in court. he was 92 at at them. He was offered a deal (on my concent) that he took, one of the clauses in the deal was that he had to have his name suppression lifted. It was pretty much the 1 thing I would not back down on when it came to the offer, I did on other things. He destroyed my name in the town I grew up in, the one he still lived in, and is still living in now, therefore he could face the people that he told so many lies about me.
His name suppression was lifted, he went back to the small town and was ostrasized, and still is 4 years later, and I am still learning to heal from his actions.
I am not too sure if this realtes fully to your blog, however, there is hope for the name suppression to be lifted, the victims need to know what their rights are, and that if they push for it they can get it. I have name suppression, which I am eternally grateful for, very few people know who I am, but a lot more know who he is, what he is....Not only did I get him admitting to what he did, which was my goal, people now see the man for evil man he is.
