While sitting waiting in Thomas Rd waiting to turn right into Gordonton Rd in the morning traffic, it astounded me what some would do to avoid waiting in a queue.
Ninety-five per cent of us waited in line for our turn to turn right. About 5 per cent decided that we were all stupid to wait and screamed up the left-hand side of us, turned left into Gordonton Rd and immediately did a U-turn.
Apart from being selfish and idiotic, they could easily have caused an accident to themselves or other, law-abiding drivers. How I wished there was a police car.
Just at that moment, my dream came true. A uniformed policeman in a uniformed car screamed up on the left of us, turned left and, yes, you guessed it, immediately did a U-turn. He had no emergency lights on before, during or after completing this manoeuvre and carried on in the traffic as if nothing had happened.
I suppose it's only fair that the police would have their percentage of idiots too, who give the majority of them a bad name.
