February is BikeWise month, when kids ride to school, adults ride to work and the retired ride for fun and fitness.

To celebrate, the council should reseal all road inner edges with smooth seal. There is nothing worse for a cyclist than the coarse chip laid on so many of Hamilton's roads.

With high-pressure tyres, it vibrates the bike and rider until cycling becomes unpleasant.

People living near these coarse chip roads notice the rise in noise level. Car tyres are at least 10 decibels louder than on smoother seal. All roads should be as smooth as the ones in Flagstaff.
