Eight Waikato players have been selected in the wider training squad for the 2013 New Zealand under-20 campaign.
Props Josh Davey (Hautapu) and Joe Walsh (Melville), loose forwards Kane Jacobsen (Hautapu), Sonny Ali'ifa'alogo (University) and Adam Burn (Hamilton Old Boys), first five-eighth Wharenui Hawera (Hamilton Marist), midfield back Niko Malo (Hamilton Marist) and outside back Joe Webber (Hamilton Marist)will take part in a week-long training camp in late November at the Sport and Rugby Institute in Palmerston North which marks the start of the process for selecting the 2013 New Zealand under-20 team.
Further camps and trials are scheduled next year before the 2013 New Zealand under-20 season culminates with the annual IRB Junior World Championship in June.
Waikato's ITM Cup head coach Chris Gibbes is an assistant coach for the New Zealand Under-20 team.
