The Te Awamutu Bowling Club is hosting the Waikato men's singles final today, starting at 9am.
Kevin Smith of Hinuera and Kerry Morgan of Hillcrest will battle for the men's singles title
Te Awamutu is also hosting the semifinals and finals of the open men's pairs competition today.
Cambridge Central, Frankton Railway, Putaruru and Hillcrest are contesting the pairs title.
The final of the mixed pairs B grade will be held at the same time, between Frankton Railway, Hamilton City, Te Awamutu and Te Kuiti.
Tomorrow, Hillcrest host the men's open triples final from 10am, with Frankton Railway and Hillcrest going head to head.
Meanwhile, Ashleigh Jeffcoat of Hamilton Girls' High School finished second in the National Secondary Schools Bowls Tournament in Wellington last weekend, beaten 21-9 in the final.
James Thompson and Kasey Garforth of Matamata College were second in the boys' pairs final, losing 9-8 in a tight final.
Playing in the Zone 2 Intercentre Tournament last weekend against Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley and Counties Manukau at Omokaroa Bowling Club, Waikato finished last in the open women's and third in the open men's grades.
The Geddes Trophy Waikato junior men's team finished second in the division at the same club, with the second half of the trophy to be played in February.
