School children mark the one-year countdown to the Cricket World Cup this morning in Garden Place.

Hamilton marked the one-year countdown to the Cricket World Cup with a celebrity cricket match in Garden Place this morning.

The match started at 7.15am and starred some of the region's top cricketing talent as well as school children and celebrities.

Hamilton's Seddon Park will host three pool matches during next year's World Cup tournament with tickets going on sale from 2pm Friday. Tomorrow's event will also see the unveiling of a special Cricket World Cup countdown clock.
