Kiwi Jones into second round in Japan

New Zealand tennis player Sacha Jones has cruised into the second round of a $US75,000 ($NZ104,442) WTA tournament in Toyota, Japan.
Jones beat Yi Chen of Chinese Taipei 6-3 6-1 in the first round and next meets Tomoko Yonemura of Japan.
In the doubles, Marina Erakovic and Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn beat Japan's Inoue and Koshino 6-3 6-1.
They will play the Japanese pair of Remi Tezuka and Junri Namigata in the quarterfinals.
In a men's $35,000 ATP challenger event also in Toyota, New Zealand's Rubin Statham and Australian partner Nick Lindahl beat Japan's Hiroki Moriya and Arata Onozawa 2-6 6-3 10-5 to make the second round.
